Secured and unsecured riding lawn mowers are being targeted by thieves, according to the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office.

Major Bruce Temple said two Craftsman riding mowers have been stolen in the Highway 48 area.
Temple said people should try to store their mowers inside where they are less likely to be seen. “More than likely they’re on the street for resale. If someone offers you an excellent deal on a riding lawn mower call us or Crimestoppers.”
The sheriff’s office can be reached at 252-583-8051. Crimestoppers can be reached at 252-583-4444.
