The Roanoke Rapids Theatre will ring in the new year with music from a local band and the popular Top 40 band North Tower.

Before the doors open at 9 p.m. for the New Year’s Eve show, there will be a children’s event from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Cost of child admittance is $6 and there will be games and other activities for them.

Parents who buy the advanced $25 ticket or the $30 ticket at the door have the option of allowing their children to stay for the entire event.

Tickets can be bought at the theater and several other locations. There will be a cash bar and admission includes a free breakfast. Some of the money earned from the event will go to local charities.

The Redublic, a Roanoke Rapids reggae, funk and rock band featuring Jacob Overton, Brian Letchworth, Jake Hux and Jabez Ledres will open the New Year’s Eve celebration.
