Yes I am "really serious"...no matter where a building is located, it will be robbed. Do you think that Bobby's supermarket, the auto place on tenth street or any of the other numerous places that have been robbed in the past month will cut down surrounding trees or move just because they were robbed? The best way to prevent such a crime is to beef up security around the location as in camera systems to check where the people are comming from or what type of get-a-way vehicle they use to flee the scene. Drawing straws from a hat filled with customers is not always the correct solution. Thus a new manager maybe the best answer as in the current one may not be up to par with handling a bank in a high crime area. and yeah....make sense...lance has a rule about "complete sentences" and attacks on other commenters honey

WEll, lets wait and see how long it is before RRPD parks a single patrol car t every bank to deter the robbers!! How moronic of a plan was that?? I don't think it fooled anyone at all. A manager isn't going to make a difference here, nor would a new location. Now building a fence similar to what the bank that used to be down on Walser's Corner did... THAT would help... as would hired private ARMED security!! Go into a bank in NYC or DC and see if you can NOT spot the armed guard!!

I am sorry also, but not just for the people who work in the bank or happened to have been there at the time. I am sorry for anyone who deals with the bank that looks like the man in the picutre. Last year, when the bank was robbed, three completely innocent people who have accounts there were accused of the robbery simply because the robber did not attempt to get money from another room of the bank and the fact that employees "thought" it was them. I think that this bank needs to be under review as something serious is going on there. That Guy, a new location would not change much so maybe they need a new manager or a better security system.
All I can say is I am glad that no one was hurt...money can be replaced....but lives cannot!

This is just another sign of how the economic slump is affecting a lot of people. There are some are desperate enough to commits crimes just to make ends meet. I am not condoning this crime in any way, I am merely stating that times are tough and people are getting desperate. And Southern Bank is one of the easier banks to rob. They should relocate to another area, or seriously beef up their security.
