A Saturday morning shots fired call led to the discovery of 14 individual packaged bags of marijuana.

Lieutenant George Evans of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said Deputy J.M. Clark found the suspect’s vehicle at Fox Run Court around 2 a.m.

A marijuana cigarette was on the dash and Clark charged Dennis Lee Junior Sessom, 20, of Roanoke Rapids. He was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule VI, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of less than a half ounce of marijuana.

He was jailed on $5,000 bond and has a March 9 court date. No guns were found in the vehicle.
