He was wanted as an absconder from Probation and Parole and was on probation for possession with intent to sell cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• Deputy Matt Brown acted on some information he received about a wanted person from Durham staying in the Enfield area.

Brown arrested Cedric LaKeith Hawkins, 34, of Durham, for assault on a female, assault by strangulation and harassing phone calls.

Brown turned Hawkins over to the Durham Police Department.

• High and Steven Casey stopped a vehicle on Julian Allsbrook Road in Roanoke Rapids.

While investigating the vehicle equipment violation, Casey noticed part of a gun stuffed down in the pocket of the passenger seat.
