Since last Wednesday, the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office has investigated nine break-ins.

The latest break-ins, which resulted in property thefts, were reported Tuesday, Major Bruce Temple said in a news release.

Pending further investigation into the crimes, Temple told rrspin.com today investigators can’t say the crimes are related.

He did say, however, because many of the stolen are too heavy for one person to carry, investigators believe, “We have more than one group of thieves. Some of the thefts, geographically, seem to be repetitive thefts. We’re looking at that possibility.”

The thefts reported Tuesday are:

• A house on Sledge Road in Enfield was forcibly entered and a 32 inch Panasonic television was stolen.

• A garage on Justice Branch Road in Littleton was forcibly entered and a Honda CR 125 dirt bike was stolen.

• A house on Carolina Rest Home Road was forcibly entered and a 52 inch Toshiba television was stolen.

At least one of these thefts occurred during daylight, Temple said.

Last week the sheriff’s office reported it was investigating the following crimes:

• Items were taken from an unsecured shed on Brigman Street in Roanoke Rapids.

The property was described as a radiator for a Volvo semi truck, an "air to air" cooler for turbo power and an air conditioner condenser.

 • A victim in the 11000 section of Highway 48, Littleton, reported that their house was forcibly entered through the front door with the house ransacked. Nothing was found to be missing at the time of report.

On Monday the sheriff’s office reported the following crimes:

• On June 25 a report was filed about the theft of a portable basketball goal. The backboard had "SKEET" on it. The theft occurred in the East End Avenue area of Littleton

• On June 25 a breaking and entering was reported in the area of Carolina Rest Home Road, where the following items were stolen: A red Homelite generator, a black  Campbell 60 gallon air compressor, a Speedway series jumpstart box, two yellow wire wagons, a red Murray push mower, four yard rakes, nine shovels and a Mikita cordless drill in a green case.

 • On June 26 four, 18 inch chrome wheels with balding tires were taken from a yard in the area of Lucky Drive Halifax

  1. On June 26, a Dino 4500 generator was stolen from the area of Nations Road, Roanoke Rapids. The generator is described as a black engine and frame with a Briggs and Stratton motor with a section red in color with white writing of "4500."
