The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed robbery at the New Dixie Mart on Highway 903.

The robbery occurred at 1 a.m. today.

Lieutenant Bobby Martin said the clerk told investigators two white males entered the store, one wearing a light colored hooded jacket and standing about 5 feet 10 inches tall. The other man wore navy blue coveralls and a black ski mask with one eye hole. He stood about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighed about 200 pounds.

The suspect with the coveralls brandished a rifle during the robbery. The suspects exited the store and ran on foot.

A track was conducted by Tillery Correctional Center bloodhounds but the track did not reveal any suspects. No one was hurt and the suspects got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Anyone with information on this is asked to contact the Halifax  County Sheriff's Office at 252-583-8201 or Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444.
