Sheriff's office releases break-in footage

The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office today released video footage of a man who broke into the New Dixie Mart on Highway 158 in Roanoke Rapids.

The footage, which can be seen below, shows a man entering the store with a plastic garbage bag around 2 a.m. Sunday when the store was closed.

The man goes behind the counter and then leaves, the bag full of $600 worth of cigarettes.

Man...I have seen people do some crazy things to get their fix, but this is just beyond stupid. And to top it all off, the guy stole newports instead of money. I guess getting his fix was more important to this guy than making off with stolen cash.
