Lieutenant Stevie Salmon of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said manpower has been scaled down but the search for Karl Besas continues.
Search teams from across the region have helped, Salmon said, and efforts are concentrated between buoys 1 and 2.
The sheriff’s office told rrspin.com Monday authorities presume Besas drowned when he and friends went for a late night swim Friday night off Vincent Circle in the Myrick Estates subdivision.
The friends took a boat and when they were done discovered Besas was not with them.
