Two people were arrested this morning and one was arrested Wednesday, according to Lieutenant George Evans.

Shortly before 10 a.m. today deputies B.C. Griffin and B.K. Knight responded to an anonymous call and allegedly found 28-year-old Derrick Ledan Garner and 22-year-old Jason Keith Alston, both of Weldon, inside the house.

Garner was taken into custody in the attic and Alston was taken into custody as he tried to escape from a bedroom window.

Griffin investigated and found electrical wire missing from the walls, which had been damaged by kicking and punching, Evans said.

Deputy J.M. Clark spoke with the victim, who told the officer the pair didn't have permission to be in the house.

The Weldon Police Department and state Highway Patrol assisted the sheriff's office while Detective James Matthews assisted Griffin with booking the pair, who were charged with breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering and injury to real property.

Alston was jailed on $2,500 bond and Garner on $5,000 bond. They each have August 16 court dates.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, Evans said Deputy C.H. Boden responded to the same house after another call and found 28-year-old Shadeed Mustasf Hyman allegedly inside.

Boden, Griffin and Deputy J. Keeter investigated and found damage to the inside of the house and a bag of items at the door which which Hyman, of Weldon, had allegedly taken from the house. Electrical wiring was also missing.

Hyman was charged with breaking and entering, possession of stolen goods and injury to personal property. He was jailed on $2,500 bond.

Evans said the house is unoccupied with no power. He said deputies Wednesday secured the house as best they could after Hyman allegedly kicked the door in. He said it is believed Alston and Garner are working separately from Hyman.
