The Halifax Resolves Chapter, North Carolina Society Son’s of the American Revolution has selected Teri-Jo Lumsden, a junior at J. F. Webb High School as the winner of this year’s competition.

The SAR Outstanding Cadet award is presented a cadet in the third year of JROTC who has been selected from a pool of cadets who have been nominated by their school’s JROTC instructor and principal.  The selection is based on performance in JROTC, academic performance in high school, community and school service and an original essay about "How JROTC has prepared me to be a better citizen of the United States.”

The award, presented by  Ken Wilson president of the Halifax Resolves Chapter, included an Olympic style medal with ribbon, a certificate and a check for $50.   Teri-Jo, the daughter of Denise Walther of Oxford, is the JROTC Battalion Supply Officer and is a member of the National Honor Society.
