The Roanoke Rapids Police Department reported the following:

• On Saturday officers responded to Roanoke Valley Motor Sports on Julian R. Allsbrook Highway. Chief Jeff Hinton said a Yamaha generator was stolen on Oct. 8. Value of generator is $900.

• On Sunday officers responded to a report of a break-in at Java Junction on Roanoke Avenue. More than $400 in cash was taken from the office. It is unclear how entry was gained.

• On Saturday officers responded to a report of four-wheeler stolen from Smith Church Road. The chain securing the vehicle was cut and the value of the vehicle is $1,200.

• On Saturday around 9:30 a.m. officers responded to a wreck at 10th street and Park Avenue. 

Ronald Grant III of Roanoke Rapids was charged with failing to decrease speed to avoid a collision. He was operating a 2008 Harley-Davidson motorcycle and collided with a 1996 Dodge driven by Annetta Sandeford of Roanoke Rapids. Grant was taken to Halifax Regional Medical Center for treatment
