Roanoke Rapids police are investigating a home invasion Tuesday night in the 700 block of Jefferson Street.

Captain Andy Jackson said shortly after 11:45 p.m. two people who were watching movies reported to officers someone kicked in the back door. When they ran to front door and opened it there was a man pointing a gun at them. The witnesses could not see the faces but it appeared they were two black males wearing black, hooded jackets.

Witnesses reported hearing shots fired but no one was injured.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the police department at 252-533-2810 or Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444.
