Roanoke Rapids Police report - September 25, 2009

Roanoke Rapids Police Chief Jeff Hinton reported the following:

  1. Officers responded to the 1000 block of Cedar Street around midnight. Four unknown people described as black males poured gasoline around the front porch of a residence and were spotted by neighbors who called police. The males fled before police arrived. Gasoline was cleaned up and no damage reported. This case is still under investigation.

  2. On Monday, Dixie Medlin, 30 of Roanoke Rapids, was arrested and charged with manufacture, sell and deliver a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, felony possession of marijuana, possession of schedule III, possession of schedule IV and possession of prescription medication with no prescription. She was released on $10,000 bond and has an Oct. 14 court date.

  3.  On Tuesday, Hieu T. Dinh, 28, of Naples, Fla., was arrested for possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule 1 drugs, possession of schedule IV drugs, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver schedule 1, possession of paraphernalia and maintaining a vehicle for controlled substance delivery. He went to jail under $5,000 bond and has a Nov. 11 court date.

  4. A search warrant was executed at 512 Harris Street on Thursday around 10 a.m. from complaints of drug activity. Crack pipes and drug paraphernalia were recovered and charges are pending.
