A man already out on bond for drug charges earlier this month and failing to register as a sex offender now faces more counts following a traffic stop in Roanoke Rapids today.

Rodney Alexander Williams, who was in court earlier today, was charged after Deputy Emerson Carroll of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office stopped the vehicle he was in for a violation on Highway 158, according to Lieutenant Chuck Hasty.

Carroll and Deputy Steven Casey found personal use amounts of cocaine and marijuana on Williams, 34, of Littleton, and Marshall Tyler Moseley, 19, of Roanoke Rapids.

They were both charged with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Moseley was jailed on $500 bond and Williams on $1,500 bond. They each have December 21 court dates.

Williams already faces charges from a stop on November 9 in Littleton where  5 grams of crack cocaine was found. He was released the following day on $25,000 bond.

Hasty said Williams has a lengthy criminal record dating back to 1994.
