Rape suspect gives up

A man wanted for the rape of juvenile girl has turned himself in and is jailed on $50,000 bond.

A friend of William Thomas Crowder saw his picture on rrspin.com and called him, Captain Andy Jackson of the Roanoke Rapids Police Department said.

Crowder faces charges of first degree rape and first degree kidnapping.

The rape is believed to have occurred on August 30. Jackson declined to give the location. The man allegedly forced himself on the girl.
