A break-in at the Store Next Store on Fifth Street Sunday morning continues to be investigated by Roanoke Rapids police.

A passing motorist shortly before 2:25 a.m. noticed a window broken out of the store. A canine unit was dispatched but was unable to locate anyone in the area, Captain Andy Jackson said.

Black and Mild cigars and cigarettes were taken from the break-in. Jackson said video surveillance shows a black male wearing a white stocking hat and jeans with pictures on the pockets threw a rock through the window, left and came back, entering the store through the broken window.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the police department at 252-533-2810 or Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444.
