Roanoke Rapids police are investigating a shots fired call in which a house at 1017 Franklin Street was fired into Thursday night.

Investigators picked up a casing, Captain Andy Jackson said.

Initial reports indicate a man and woman were home but not injured. A motive has not been established and there was no physical description given.

It is not clear whether the person who fired the shots around 11 p.m. was on foot or in a car.

Jackson said the force of the blast caused sheetrock to fall from the ceiling.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the police department at 252-533-2810 or Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444.
