Roanoke Rapids police are investigating an armed robbery which occurred at Bobby’s Supermarket in South Rosemary this morning.

While officers at the scene had no comment, the store owner, Ali Alrahimi, said two men came in the store around 9:15 pointing 9mm handguns at him and demanded money.

He said he complied and the men fled on foot.

One of the men was wearing a black T-shirt and thermal shirt and had his face covered with a green bandanna.

The other man wore a green jacket and had his face covered with a bandanna.

The suspects, two black males, may have fled the scene in a red pickup.

Halifax County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Justin Keeter and his dog Brody ran a track in the area of Oak and Daniels streets.

I live in the apartment complex near Bobby's Supermarket. This incident hits a little too close to home. I will be extremely wary of anyone knocking on my door than I was before. I not even sure what kind of safety measures I should put in place.
