The Roanoke Rapids Police Department is investigating a strong armed robbery which occurred early this morning.
The crime occurred at the Presto on Julian R. Allsbrook Highway around 1:30 this morning. Police radio transmissions said the person, described as black male with dreadlocks, went in the store and snatched money.
He fled on foot after grabbing the cash and police are still investigating.
