The girlfriend of Kristopher Patterson now faces the same charges.

Jennifer Leigh Johnson, 24, of 806 Carolina Street, was charged Tuesday with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, manufacturing schedule VI, felony possession of marijuana, maintaining a dwelling and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

She was given a $10,000 bond.

Johnson was not at home Sunday when her boyfriend was arrested, according to Captain Andy Jackson of the Roanoke Rapids Police Department.

Jackson said the charges against Johnson reflect she allegedly knew there was an indoor growing operation in the house on Carolina Street. "You don't grow a roomful of marijuana and not know it's there."

Jackson said the case is still being investigated. He said officers believe the operation may have been at the house for the past couple of months.

Patterson. 27, was arrested Sunday night.

Officers seized 11 plants valued at $10,000 each, watering and ventilation systems and lighting and planting materials.

Roanoke Rapids deputy police chief Adam Bondarek Monday said officers from A Squad were following up on an investigation there when they discovered the operation in about a 10 by 12 back room of the house.

Patterson faces charges of possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, manufacturing schedule VI, felony possession of schedule VI, maintaining a dwelling and possession of paraphernalia.

Starting today, we are asking that comments on this case, deal only with the case itself instead of attacks on other readers. It would be simple to just disable comments on this story but we feel everyone has a right to comment. If your comment was not posted it was because it was libelous or was just to attack another reader. There have been several engaging comments on this story but, as we said, starting today, comments will only deal with the case itself. We would also ask to please, if you can, use complete sentences and avoid profanity - Editor

Ok..... so what's your name "T.T."?? Pretty simple for most people to figure out who I am. I am man enough to stand behind my opinions and statements with my real first and last name!! You gripe about fake screen names and then come in with 2 letters?? *LOL* Nice example on your behalf.

Is anyone else amazed at how these comments always go from "here's my opinion and your opinion and lets discuss it" to "SCREW YOU YOU'RE IGNORANT" and "I KNOW BECAUSE I JUST KNOW AND YOU CAN'T POSSIBLY KNOW"??

Hey Dawn its your long lost friend reality. Sorry i havent been around for you in a long time my friend Common Sense and I have been on a vacation from you since i can remember. Too bad this world isnt full of perfect people like you im sure it would be a better place. You must have an unfulfilling life to get up here and cry your sad songs to people that dont care. I dont believe nothing about you is intact especially your brain and i know you werent the person in charge of getting "the halifax county tax pit" here for i know your nowhere near intelligent enough to word through all the things needed for that. (unless they are using reading comprehension for dummies). All the negative comments you say obviously you are SO disappointed in how your own life is going that you feel you need to talk about others. That being said hope you have a great day.

As for sky, Anyone who wishes someones child to be taken away from their biological parents that love them very much and care for them should be SLAPPED in the face! They are both good people and some of the best parents ive seen with a child! Yea the father made a mistake but once again the child was not living in the home!
and for WoW! living one block down or not doesnt mean you know their personal business!! what did you do? stay up all night with binoculars and watch when she came and went?? doubt it. Now all of you who want to judge, just wait for the day that something like this or worse happens to your family or friend that you KNOW are good people but made a bad choice!!!!!! LEAVE THEM ALONE AND UR CRUEL COLD COMMENTS TO YOURSELF.or better yet GET A LIFE!!!

thats a really good point, i dont know who you are but im sure we got the same opinions.

So KP and Jenn were growing marijuana in their house. The house their child lived in. And that makes them bad parents?!? How many of you parents on here have been running late getting your child to daycare or school and sped to get there on time? How many of you parents have had a few drinks while at home by yourself with your child? How many of you parents smoke around your children? Being around a marijuana plant is FAR SAFER than any of these scenarios. And most EVERY parent is guilty of at least 1 of theses 3 actions. To say you have never endangered your child somehow is a flat out lie. And seriously, if you have never broken the law... then keep talking. And note I didn't say if you have ever been caught.
