Officers seize heroin, pot

Officers found heroin and marijuana on a Rocky Mount man who was slumped over his steering wheel on Highway 158, Roanoke Rapids Police Chief Jeff Hinton said today.

Hinton said officers recovered five dosage units of heroin and 10 dosage units of marijuana from Anthony Ryan Hilliard, 22.

Officers responded to a call around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday that Hilliard was slumped over the steering wheel of his car near Centura Bank.

He was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while license revoked, possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule 1 and driving while impaired. 

He was jailed on $100,000 bond and has a July 28 court date.
