The victims in two Wednesday night stabbings did not sustain life threatening injuries, according to Lieutenant Bobby Martin of the Halifax County Sheriff's Office.

Martin said the first stabbing, which was in the Enfield area, was the result of a family altercation which turned violent.

Detective Joe Sealey said in an earlier news release the first stabbing occurred in the Enfield area off Highway 561 shortly after 7 p.m.

Sealey, along with deputies R. Viverette and A. Lewis, responded and discovered the victim had been stabbed in the abdomen.

Investigation led to the arrest of John Bradley Jr. on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

Bradley was jailed on $60,000 bond and has a June 14 court date.

Martin said investigators were still trying to determine the reason for the second stabbing.

The second stabbing took place shortly before 8:30 p.m. in the Halifax area.

Sealey, Viverette and Lewis responded and found the victim was stabbed in the upper back.

Viverette charged 47-year-old Phyllis Renee McGee of Weldon with assault with a deadlly weapon inflicting serious injury and second degree trespassing.

McGee was jailed on $5,000 bond and has a June 6 court date.
