Bell Bell Roanoke Rapids Police Department

A Roanoke Rapids man reported missing by his family on March 23 is said to be safe in Minnesota.

Captain Andy Jackson of the Roanoke Rapids Police Department said a church bishop met Samuel Lee Bell, 41, and was trying to find him a place to stay.

Bell was last seen leaving his house at 810 East Ninth Street around 4 p.m. and getting into a gray Malibu or Impala.

Jackson said last week it was possible Bell may be headed to Minnesota or Wyoming where he has family.

Family members told police he had been acting strangely and rambling before he left.
