Trooper D.P. Efird said troopers received the call around 3:55 a.m. They discovered a 1990 Honda Accord driven by Lori Ann Claude went off the road to the left and struck a tree.
Efird said the car did not have airbags and Claude, who was wearing a seatbelt, was trapped in the vehicle. The top of the car had to be cut off to retrieve her.
Efird said troopers believe alcohol may have been a factor and are awaiting a coroner's report.
The crash occurred two miles outside Margaretsville.
