Patterson Patterson

A 21-year-old Roanoke Rapids man who allegedly fled from a burglary scene Tuesday, vowing he wouldn't go back to jail, was caught shortly after fleeing and jailed.

Roanoke Rapids Police Officer Jason Williams apprehended Kenneth Levernon Patterson, of Madison Street, at the Kentucky Fried Chicken and charged him with several counts relating to the burglary at Riverpointe Mobile Home Park and the theft of credit cards from October 6.

Captain Andy Jackson said shortly before 9:15 a.m. the maintenance manager for the trailer park allegedly saw Patterson inside a mobile home and startled him. Patterson fled, reportedly saying he wasn't going back to jail.

Williams charged Patterson with forced burglary, two counts of trespassing, a count of escape from custody-resisting arrest, two counts of larceny and three counts of possession of stolen property.

Jackson said it was not clear what the second trespassing charge was for but that two of the possession of stolen goods counts were from a car break-in on Jackson Street in which two credit cards were stolen.

Patterson was jailed on $3,500 secure bond.

Quoting the real:
why are we worried about what someones bond is or is that your way of having justice. Not to say he isnt guilty but who's to say he is guilty until trail.. correct me or dislike my comment but is it now 'guilty until proven innocent.. or innocent until proven guilty??' just curious..

A little common sense would tell you that $3,500 is too low for bond for a REPEAT OFFENDER. Plus with those charges, even a first offender should have to post more bond than that.

At Bsharp, thanks for the tip. The photo which originally ran was of an alleged accomplice of Patterson in a previous break-in. Due to a glitch in the police department's software the incorrect photo was included in Patterson's arrest sheet. Thanks for the tip.

I don't know where you get your information from but it's pretty good some times. This picture is the wrong person and I don't know why its up here. Is this a form of misinformation or slander?

Hey Eddie, that's Roanoke Rapids for you. As long as you're not accused of killing anyone, you can get away with anything else. Hey criminals, want to deal drugs, come on down, want to steal, come on down, want to beat someone up, come on down!
