Man sought in pool hall fray

A fight which erupted inside a local billiard hall early Saturday morning left one man with severe injuries and arrest warrants for the man who allegedly beat him with a bottle.

Roanoke Rapids police Deputy Chief Adam Bondarek said the fight started inside Hux’s Billiards in the Forest Hills Shopping Center and ended outside.

As many as 60 people were in the fray and when officers broke up the fight they found a man lying face down on the pavement with injuries to his head and face.

Detectives have obtained arrest warrants for Leo Daniel Short, 32, of Roanoke Rapids, for assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and damage to property.
