Halifax County Sheriff’s Office Detective Joe Puhak said on March 20 shortly after 11 p.m. deputies G. Page and D. Radford where on foot patrol at a city motel when they responded to a noise violation.
They discovered damaged property inside the room and recovered the marijuana.

They charged James Tyler McKenzie, 25, with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, felony possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was jailed on $5,000 bond and has an April 27 court date.
