An 18-year-old Roanoke Rapids man arrested last month for allegedly kidnapping a 16-year-old girl faces a new charge for violating a protective order.

Roanoke Rapids Deputy Chief Adam Bondarek said Jonathan Lucas attempted to jump in a car driven by the girl. He was arrested 7 a.m. Thursday and jailed without bond.

On April 29 he surrendered to police after he holed up in a house on Brickell Street for two hours.

Lucas was wanted for second-degree kidnapping of a 16-year-old girl who he allegedly abducted at knifepoint from the Roanoke Rapids High School parking lot.
