A Roanoke Rapids man was arrested Tuesday on drug counts following an investigation by the Halifax County Sheriff's Office.

Lieutenant George Evans said Deputy G.H. Teal received information about drug activity on Lonnie B. Green Road.

Teal and Deputy C. Boden responded and arrested 32-year-old Jason Travis Shearin, charging him with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana,  possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a dwelling.

Shearin allegedly had a small amount of cocaine and marijuana seeds on him.

He was jailed on $1,500 bond and has a May 25 court date.
