A Roanoke Rapids man was charged Friday with a June breaking and entering in the Rhea Smith Road area.

Detective J. Puhak of the Halifax County Sheriff's Office said Joseph Anthony Boone, 43, was served warrants in the county jail, where he was housed on unrelated charges.

He faces charges of felony breaking and entering and larceny after breaking and entering.

Puhak said on June 22 a resident reported a tall, skinny disheveled man entered a shed on their property and took a weed trimmer.

While an area canvas turned up no leads, Boone was later identified as the person who allegedly stole the trimmer.

Boone was given a $4,000 bond and has an October 19 court date.

This is just too sad. This guy is related to me through my mother's side of the family! And I know both of his sisters to boot! I am not sure even I want to tell them the crap he is in now........
