Bryon O'Neal Lynch, 29, was able to duck the charges because he lived from house to house in Warren County before being sent to prison on charges from there, Detective Tyree Davis of the Halifax County Sheriff's Office said this morning.
Lynch, who is from Hollister, was sent to prison for a felony breaking and entering that occurred January 31 of last year in Warren County, according to state Department of Correction records.
The Halifax County charges from August 14, 2009, caught up with him and the district attorney's office had a detainer put on him in prison, where he was scheduled to be released Saturday.
Investigation by Davis led him to determine Lynch allegedly stole a credit card from the Hollister area and charged more than $900 to it.
Davis obtained warrants on Lynch for 14 counts of identity theft and 14 counts of obtaining property by false pretense.
Deputy Charlie Jenkins of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office went to the prison and arrested Lynch on two orders for arrest and the outstanding warrants from Halifax County. Lynch was given a $19,000 bond and his court date is set for January 26.
