A 26-year-old man and 14-year-old juvenile were caught Thursday following a report to Roanoke Rapids police of suspicious activity in the area of West Eighth and Cleveland streets.

The report led Roanoke Rapids officers Duane Daniels and Scott Blythe to return change and $500 in cash taken from a house in the 1000 block of West Eighth Street, Captain Andy Jackson said.

Daniels and Blythe located the people, one later identified as Travis Donnell Harvey, of Rapids Street, and the other a 14-year runaway juvenile.

Investigation revealed a back door was kicked open on West Eighth Street around 11 a.m. Detective Frankie Griffin charged Harvey with breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering and possession of stolen goods. Petitions will be filed against the juvenile.

Harvey was jailed on $10,000 secured bond and has a December 21 court date.
