
Captain Andy Jackson of the Roanoke Rapids Police Department said Officer Rich Somogyi was patrolling the area when he saw William Anthony Logan, 21, near the CADA building after 9 p.m.
Somogyi questioned Logan, of Jackson Street, and did a records check, learning he was wanted on an outstanding order for arrest from Halifax County for assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
As Officer Gorton Williams was assisting Somogyi, he discovered Logan allegedly had 16 grams of marijuana on him.
Logan was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule VI, possession of schedule VI and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was jailed on $12,000 bond and has a March 7 court date.
