Pittman Halifax County Sheriff's Office

One victim was released and another listed in fair condition following a shooting in the Scotland Neck area early Saturday morning.

One man, 21-year-old Daquan Sherrod Pittman, was arrested on Michelle Road by Detective O. Wiltsie, Deputy J. Keeter and Deputy R. Wade. His arrest occurred this morning around 12:30.

The Scotland Neck Police Department assisted with the arrest in which Pittman was charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

The shooting occurred at a party outside Scotland Neck around 1:30 a.m., according to Lieutenant George Evans of the Halifax County Sheriff's Office.

Pittman was jailed on $82,000 bond and has a December 7 court date.

One of the victims was released from the hospital late Sunday night.
