A burglary and larceny victim told Halifax County Sheriff's Office investigators he was robbed as he slept, the purported suspect allegedly cutting his pockets to steal from him.

Detective J. Puhak said in a news release Sergeant S. Allen took the report on July 22 after being called to the 1300 block of Smith Church Road in Roanoke Rapids.

Allen learned that while the victim was not harmed, his pockets were cut and money and medication were stolen.

Followup investigation by Puhak led to the arrest of Lincoln Mike “Mikey” Stanley, 33, of Roanoke Rapids.

He was charged with first degree burglary and larceny from a person. He was jailed on $10,000 bond and has an October 19 court date.

Puhak said investigation remains open and anyone with information is encouraged to call him at 252-593-1021 or Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444.
