Lieutenant Chuck Hasty of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said he and Deputy Stanley Rodwell followed up on information about the whereabouts of Grady Jefferson Jr. and located him at his house in Littleton.
Jefferson, who was wanted for indecent liberties with a minor and assault with a deadly weapon, was jailed on $11,000 bond and has a September 15 court date.
The charges stem from complaints by two different children Saturday.
Deputy Charlie Jenkins responded to the P&J Trailer Park area after receiving a call about Jefferson inappropriately touching a child.
The child told their mother Jefferson touched them against their will and the mother called law enforcement.
During his investigation Jenkins discovered Jefferson, 42, also allegedly asked a child for a hug. The juvenile said no and Jefferson, a registered sex offender, allegedly pulled out a knife and began chasing the child.
In September Jefferson was caught hiding in a closet during an investigation into an indecent liberties charges.
He was located at 119 Ward Drive in Roanoke Rapids and charged. In 1998 he was convicted of attempted taking indecent liberties with a minor.
