A drop in public involvement opportunity is planned for Wednesday at the Lloyd Andrews City Meeting Hall, 700 Jackson Street, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The purpose is to receive input from citizens about pedestrian improvements for Roanoke Rapids.

This planning effort is funded by the Peanut Belt Rural Planning Organization and does not commit the city to construct sidewalks anytime soon.

Planning and Development Director Amanda Jarratt said citizen involvement does provide valuable information to help develop a pedestrian plan for potential improvements that can be considered in the future.

The link to a survey on the matter is available on the city’s homepage — www.roanokerapidsnc.com and is also available at its recreation centers, library and city hall.
