The Roanoke Rapids Fire Department will flush all hydrants beginning June 2 and ending in August.
Flushing will take place between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. and substantial amounts of water will be used to clean the system.
The fire department encourages people to check their cold tap water for discoloration before drinking, bathing or washing clothes. If your water is discolored turn the cold water tap on and run until clear.
For more information contact the Roanoke Rapids Sanitary District at 252-537-9137 or the fire department at 252-533-2880.
