Detective J. Puhak of the Halifax County Sheriff's Office said the report was received at the end of June.
Puhak and Detective J. Sealey investigated the case and arrested Tyler Lynch for attempted first degree statutory rape and three counts of indecent liberties with a minor.
He was jailed on $100,000 bond and has an October 19 court date.
