charleshockadayTwo men are being sought in a Sunday shooting that has left a Roanoke Rapids woman in stable condition with gunshot wounds to her chest and arm, the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office reported.

The Spin learned this morning the woman who was shot is Mary Graham, the mother of Corey Graham, who was gunned down and killed in a convenience store parking in March. It is not clear what the connection is between those involved.

Lt. Bobby Martin said two men, Charles Edward “Oopsie” Hockaday and Alston Lamont Parker are both wanted in the shooting which occurred shortly before 1:30 p.m. in the Music City Trailer Park off Heritage Lane.

Hockaday has a lengthy criminal record and most recently had murder charges dismissed in the killing of Jerry Yellorday last year.

Martin said the shooting occurred as Mrs. Graham and two other people were driving through the trailer park, which is located of Highway 48 in Roanoke Rapids.

Words were exchanged and shots were fired from a handgun, Martin said.

It is not clear what the argument was about.

The sheriff’s office has warrants for the arrests of Hockaday and Parker.

Parker is described as a black male standing 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighing 145 pounds. He has brown eyes and brown hair with dark skin.

Hockaday is described as a black male with dark skin and brown eyes. He stands 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighs 140 pounds.
