• Lt. Chuck Hasty said in a press release on Tuesday narcotics agents executed a search warrant at a residence on Little Deep Creek Road in Roanoke Rapids. Agents conducted an investigation due to complaints of drug activity in that residence. Agents arrested Andrew Patrick Pierce and Irving Lewis Fleming at the residence for possession of drug paraphernalia, which was material for smoking crack. Pierce and Fleming were cited and released by agents.
• Today narcotics agents received information that a fugitive from Georgia was in Roanoke Rapids. Agent Tim Harris and Hasty went to a residence on Colonial Drive and arrested William Darrell Lawson of Georgia. Lawson was wanted by the Clinch County Sheriff’s Office in Homerville, Ga., for possession of amphetamine. There was no indication Lawson was selling meth in the area, Hasty told The Spin. Lawson is being held in the Halifax County Jail pending extradition to Georgia.
