Hail covers the ground in Weldon. Hail covers the ground in Weldon. Cathy Eleczko

An untold number of vehicles were damaged following a hail storm Monday evening.

Hail ranged from dime sized to golf ball sized in Weldon. The perimeter of the storm appeared to be around Chockoyette Park area and Premier Landing area in Roanoke Rapids and the Weldon area.

rrspin.com Facebook readers reported numerous cars were dented at the softball fields at the park. One reader reported her husband's new truck got a cracked windshield and was dented.

Another reader reported so many dents in their vehicle they can't begin to count them.

Captain Andy Jackson of the Roanoke Rapids Police Department said numerous cars were dented in the Lowe's parking lot.

Too bad the insurance companies will find a way to avoid paying for the damages, the "hail clause"... don't worry though only 100 bucks more to add it to your policy you know for "future" occurrences.
