Employees of Halifax Regional have donated more than 1,000 items of clothing and toys so needy children in Halifax and Northampton Counties will have a Merry Christmas this year.

“Economic conditions are difficult for many people this holiday season,” said Wanda Catt, manager of the lab at Halifax Regional and a member of the committee which has collected the items.  “So, it is important for us to demonstrate our spirit of caring for those in need.

“The employees of Halifax Regional are proud to provide healthcare to our friends and neighbors 365 days of the year, and helping children at this holiday is just one way we contribute to the community outside the Hospital.”

The items will be sent to the Departments of Social Services in Halifax and Northampton Counties for distribution to Hannah’s Place, Angel’s Closet and the Boys and Girls Club.  The local governments have a process in place to determine eligibility for children.
