Mason Mason Halifax County Sheriff's Office

The Halifax County Sherif's Office says anyone who is rendering Jimmie Lee Mason II aid in his flight from capture will be charged accordingly.

Mason is wanted in the shooting deaths last month of Thomas Tyrone “Tomcat” Davis and his girlfriend, Jenilee A. Foster.

There is already a reward for Mason's capture through Crimestoppers that seeks only information that will lead to his arrest, Lieutenant Bobby Martin said today.

Leads on the whereabouts of Mason got quiet during the manhunt for Herman Lee “Smurf” Edwards in the shooting deaths of Brandon Peterson and Lorenzo Tann Jr. “Now that he is captured we're hoping the public will help us locate Jimmie Mason,” Martin said.

Mason may have a tendency to lay low like his father, who avoided capture on federal drug charges for a couple of years after building a new life in South Carolina. “We're not trying to have a repeat of that,” Martin said. “We've got feelers on the outside of North Carolina. We're not confining our search within the borders of North Carolina. We can't afford to do that.”

Martin said the motive in the deaths of Davis and Foster is robbery. He said investigators are trying to determine if anything was taken.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444.

I know I wouldn't help him, especially if the person who he's accussed of killing was good to him. Sleep with one eye open, you might be next.
