Fennell Fennell Halifax County Sheriff's Office

A Halifax County Jail inmate was given a $1 million bond after it was discovered he was a fugitive from Massachusetts.

Detective James Matthews of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said the 911 center did a routine check for the jail and learned Renard Fennell, 29, was wanted for a probation violation for a 2007 assault.

The Massachusetts commissioner of probation confirmed the violation and Matthews took him to a magistrate.

The charges Fennell was in the county jail for were not immediately known. He has a March 2 court date.
