The fireworks show in Halifax scheduled for Monday will be held Saturday.

The only thing different in the Saturday event lineup will be the absence of the First for Freedom portrayal.

Music begins at 5:30 p.m. There will be a parachutist landing at 6:30 p.m. in honor of the late Pete Luter and at 8 p.m. there will be a program honoring veterans by the Dallas Jones Roanoke Valley Veterans Center. Fireworks are scheduled after that program at dark.

Throughout the evening, there will be children's activities and vendors.

The Enfield Volunteer Fire Department will hoist a big American flag with its one of its truck during the playing of the national anthem.

The event will be held on the grounds of the courthouse complex in Halifax.

Meanwhile, the Hobgood fireworks event, which was also postponed, begins at 7 p.m. Saturday behind the depot. Music will kickoff that event and fireworks are scheduled to begin at 9:15 p.m.

Northampton has rescheduled with a fireworks only event for Friday from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the wellness center in Jackson on Highway 305.
