Fire destroyed one of the buildings at Little Bees daycare in Garysburg this morning.
Garysburg Volunteer Fire Chief Nathaniel Ausby said the department received the call around 4:30 when the building’s alarm sounded.
When firefighters arrived the building, which is for smaller children, was engulfed and fire was blasting from the roof.
Firefighters from Garysburg and Gaston fought the blaze on Highway 301 for about two hours.
It is unclear how the fire started or where it started. Ausby said the State Bureau of Investigation has been called to determine the origin. No one was at the building when the call was received.
