Weldon still has a curfew from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. and the town has imposed water restrictions. Police Chief Mark Macon said that means no washing cars, excessive showering or watering lawns.
Interim Public Utilities Director Jeff Elks said Dominion Power is having a problem with a substation that feeds Garysburg and Weldon.
Halifax County Assistant County Manager Dia Denton said Walmart, several gas stations and restaurants are open in the city of Roanoke Rapids.
Several places in the town of Littleton now have power. The town of Hobgood has power. The power in the Town of Scotland Neck is 50 percent restored.
Halifax Electric Membership Corporation hopes to restore power to their 2,200 customers now without by the end of today or by noon tomorrow. Progress Energy reports that they will not be able to restore power to their customers until 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Sections of Interstate 95 may be shut down today as crews repair power lines.
Halifax Regional Medical Center said operations have returned to normal. The hospital and the various buildings on the campus and in Halifax and Northampton Counties now have electrical power, and air conditioning is working in all facilities.

Visiting hours have returned to normal. They are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. for medical-surgical patients
Elective outpatient surgery, tests and procedures will be conducted as scheduled Tuesday. These include X-ray, lab, cardio pulmonary, sleep lab, physical therapy, MRI and Mammography.
