The third wave of Operation Summer Heat netted five arrests this morning — four for drugs and one for disorderly conduct.

Roanoke Rapids police officers, detectives and narcotics agents, along with Alcohol Law Enforcement Agent Tim Parker, converged on the house at 302 Madison Street shortly after 11:30.

Detric Lamar Lee, who lives in the house, was forced to the ground at gunpoint, before he was handcuffed and made to sit on the porch as officers conducted a search.

Three more adults were escorted from the house along with four children who one narcotics agent said possibly ranged in age from 1 to 5.

Captain Andy Jackson said the children were put in the care of family members.

Jackson said this morning’s raid, in which marijuana, a weapon and cash were found, was the result of citizen complaints and officer investigation in the neighborhood.

Officers also seized at least one laptop, a gaming system and indoor growing materials.

Officers charged Lee with maintaining a dwelling to keep a controlled substance, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, conspiracy and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also served an arrest warrant for a probation violation.

Tina Marie Sims, 29, of 302 Madison Street, was charged with conspiracy to sell schedule VI, maintaining a dwelling and possession of drug paraphernalia. Samantha Michelle Hux, 23, of the same address, faces charges of maintaining a dwelling, conspiracy to sell schedule VI, prescription label not present and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Robert Kenneth Tritt, 23, who lists his address as Hilliard Hux Road in Littleton but was at the Madison Street house at the time of the bust, was charged with maintaining a dwelling, conspiracy to sell schedule VI and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Darrell Louis Johnson, who walked up while the bust was occurring and refused to leave, was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting a public officer.

Johnson was given a $2,000 bond and Lee a $25,000 bond. The rest were given $15,000 bonds
